Find out what people are saying about Calming Colic

I did not write this testimonial straight away as after my third and last session my son became ill with a tummy bug so was up all night being poorly for a week and then he took a week to recover, feeding several times in the night during recovery. So we were unsure if there had been any changes in my sons poor sleeping habits. However after the 2 weeks of being poorly and then fully recovering as if by magic he slept through for the first time ever for a solid 12 hours. I brought my 8 month old son to see Christian as he wasn’t sleeping well, he always seemed to be crying in his sleep and seemed to be in pain. He was delivered via forceps and we were separated for a while after a complicated birth, so Christian suggested this could have caused him some trauma. He was also given anti-biotics at 6 months and he was never really the same happy baby after that. Christian recommended three sessions of cranial osteopathy and the pro-biotic as he had been treated with the anti-biotic. It really has worked, my son is now 10 months old and he sleeps from 6.30pm to 7.15am on average. He doesn’t seem to be in pain and uncomfortable and has stopped crying in his sleep. As well as the crying in his sleep I found it impossible to get him to go to sleep, I tried everything from baby massage to always needing the hoover / white noise to get him to go to sleep. But since his treatment he doesn’t need any encouragement and goes to sleep of his own accord peacefully without all the screaming we had previously had. He generally seems a much happier and chilled out baby. I wish I had brought him to see Christian much sooner and enjoyed more nights of good sleep!

I always find these kind of books interesting and this one didn’t disappoint, a very interesting read and it is written in a way that I actually had time to read it with my colicky baby and 3 year old! It has definitely helped us out but would have benefitted us even more had I known about and read it whilst still pregnant. I recommend this to mothers with colicky babies and also think its worth a read from any pregnant mother.

Essential reading for parents (new/to be) and health visitors, midwives.....

This is an excellent book which should be read by everyone who is soon to have or already has a baby, not forgetting mothers who have had a colicky baby and want to avoid this problem in future! Also, it should be read by those who work with mums and infants.

Full of practical information about how to manage colic, this has been written from professional experience, in a style that makes it a pleasure to read.

As a nutritional therapist, I spend much time advising mothers on how they can improve their babies and their own digestive issues, and commonly recommend a visit to a cranial osteopath.

The references give the book some additional weight, and make it perfect for sharing with health care professionals.

Thank you Christian, for writing this book and making it so readily available. I can’t recommend it highly enough.

A must for new parents

Calming Colic was recommended to me by a friend – it’s a really easy book to read – I read it within an hour, and then went back and read it again a few days later. It has useful suggestions as to the reason for your baby having colic, what might have started it, ideas on how to resolve it, etc. We followed all the recommendations, and we have had success. Thank you Christian! I wish we had had this book with our first baby too. Would have stopped all the sleepless nights for the first 12 weeks!

All Mum's to be should read this book

I cannot recommend this book highly enough. It contains clear, concise information as to how to help your baby when it is distressed by colicky symptoms. There is no need to wait and suffer along with your distressed baby, this book can really help.

I am a Cranial Osteopath myself and so treat a lot of babies and Mummies and will be recommending this book to my patients. I agree with all of the advice given here and am so glad that an Osteopath has taken the time to research and write such an excellent reference for parents.

This book is very easy to read, clear and concise. It explains what is happening, why and how and what can help. Everything you need for a calmer, happier family.

Once you pick it up you won’t want to put it down and luckily it is a quick and easy read so even if your baby is screaming the house down you will have enough time to digest the information and do something that will help almost immediately.

There are references here for people who would like to research the subject further, so if you do, please tell your healthcare team so that the word can be spread and more babies and families can be helped by this wonderful book.

A Must for All Mothers Dealing with Colic or Reflux

Colic is such a haze of a subject and what does and doesn’t help, much the same with reflux. My daughter was colicky but my son has suffered with reflux badly.

Everything you could want to know about what could be the causes of your baby’s tummy to be distressed is in this book, it’s very easy to read and understand (read in one evening here and I am not a quick reader)

So much in this book makes sense and can help you help your babies colic/tummy troubles be relieved.
I am recommending this to all mums/mums to be I just wish this book had been around when my baby was tiny!

Although my son is now a toddler there is a lot of advice and recommendation that is helping his tummy troubles caused by food allergies.

A Huge Thank You to Christian Bates the Author for writing a book that all desperate Mum’s will be so grateful for!

I went to the clinic with my 7 week old baby boy as he used to cry a lot. I wasn’t able to put him down on his back without him crying. He also suffered with wind. Christian was brilliant and after a few treatments my boy was totally different. He is much more content and I can now leave him on his back on his play gym kicking about. As he is more relaxed he is able to cope better with his wind too. Fantastic, would definitely recommend!!
